CompuFARMAmerica

Good Morning Quinn & Dakota,

I want to thank you both again for submitting a quote request for an automated irrigation system, we really do appreciate the business!

I’m sure you read the literature on our website and listened to the folks at the trade show, but I need to give you a little bit of general info before I go over your quote. I know it’s annoying (I’m not a fan of salesmen either, believe it or not!) but my boss is on my ass to make sure I’m doing my due diligence. There will be more info after the overview of your package if you’re interested.

A farm is a fully contained ecosystem, a delicate organism full of interconnected systems that all depend on each other to keep the whole healthy. By using an automated irrigation system you’ll not only increase nutrient uptake efficiency but you’ll keep the system clean and productive for much longer. Many of the old guard farmers insist that irrigating by hand is better for the farm, that it’s more “natural.” I hate to say it, but this is all just superstition left over from the days when farming was illegal. The modern farm is no longer some bucolic ideal. It’s a factory with an old-timey name, that’s it. Yes, by using an automated irrigation system you’ll lose some of the personal touch that makes farming so fun – I’ll admit I hand irrigate my farm at home, it just feels better – but anyone running a commercial farming operation will be happy to trade a little personal time on the farm for the cost savings and increased efficiency.

Note: Keep in mind that not every item in your package will be listed below, just the highlights. See the attached itemized quote for detailed information. Basic package items are listed in black and custom additions I made based on your pre-quote questionnaire are listed in red:

  • Multi-purpose adapter allows connection to any aftermarket rectal coupler for full compatibility with current or future irrigation preferences
  • Auto-flushing filter with sub-micron disc element removes pathogens such as E. Coli and others, allowing irrigation liquid to be recirculated back to the head of the system without fear of infection
  • Pressure regulator ensures a comfortable pressure is maintained within the system, which studies have shown reduces the likelihood of intestinal tears by up to 37%
  • Nutrient delivery subsystem helps famine-proof your farm by dosing vital nutrients and micronutrients down to .01mL/gal to keep your farm productive with minimal traditional feed
  • MicroTronTM delivery unit for use with any FDA-approved euphoriant or analgesic hyperconcentrate
  • Backflow device ensures that no irrigation wastewater or natural farm waste goes back into the system without running through your filtration first, preventing potentially disastrous infections and loss of revenue
  • Custom quick-connect adapter for use with client-specified urethral microirrigation tubing
  • Analytic interface collects real-time data such as heartbeat, EC, pH, natural waste expulsion rates, etc. and uploads automatically to our secure cloud-based server
  • Premium subscription to CompuFARM Analytics

Now that you know what the package includes I’ll go into more detail on the benefits of our automated irrigation systems. I won’t hold it against you if you skip this part, but I’d be lying if I said I don’t think it’s important.

Automated irrigation systems come with a bevy of benefits for both the farm and the farmer. The first – and most important – is that it will save you money. Lots of money. Labor costs are the most expensive part of any enterprise, and although farming has come a long way in addressing that issue, it’s still a fact of life. By using an automated irrigation system you’ll no longer need to pay people to mix nutrients, open valves, or flush infected internal corridors. All of those activities will be handled by the system! You can also say goodbye to awkward meetings when one of your staff lingers in the genital replication ward. I know I’m sick of having to talk to the entire staff to avoid singling anyone out (regulations are a pain, am I right?), and I’ll bet you are too.

The second big benefit is increased productivity, flexibility, and lifespan. With so many interconnected systems, farms can be really finicky. Say, for example, that you want to change from producing ears to producing feet. I know it seems totally unrealistic, but just humor me. Normally you’d need to shut down the farm for a few days while you flush the system, rework your entire nutrient and feed regimen, plant starters, ramp the system back up to not shock the starters, then begin regular production of the new product. All of this is due to the constraints of hand irrigation. An automated irrigation system doesn’t cause the same peaks and valleys in hydration and nutrient saturation that hand irrigation does, letting you seamlessly transition your farm between various products without risk of shocking starters. This means you can cycle your farm from product to product as the market dictates with minimal downtime, even between ears and feet! The reduced system shock also means that your farm stays healthier and lasts longer, which is a fancy way of saying “less time driving to the dump, more time counting your (figurative) cash!”

Last but not least, the system isn’t expensive. Everything we sell is standard-issue irrigation that has been in use for decades. When it comes down to it, your irrigation system will be by far the least expensive part of your commercial farming operation. We also have a very short lead time so you won’t be waiting months to receive your product like you would be when you buy lights or bedding. Finally, you only buy the product once. You buy it once, install it, and let it do its job. It’s that simple.

I know this email has been a bit long winded but I want to make sure you have all the information you need to make an informed purchasing decision. Automated irrigation truly is the way of the future and I would be happy to answer any questions you have about it.

Thanks,
